When I was growing up, I thought I was going to be white. 

M:    It's not good to go to a charter school.
Me:  Really?
M:    Yeah, didn't you listen to the news?  The teachers are leaving.
Me:   I didn't hear that.
M:    They are betting on it.
Me:  What does that mean?
M:    They are saying bad things are going to happen.

I don't like that they are building new things.  I like our city the way it is.  You don't need to make your city better or add more things, you just like it the way it is.

M:  I didn't know you could just pray for a baby sister and God would you give you one.
Me:  Yeah, I don't think it's that simple.
M:  It is.  Tyler asked God for a sister and now his mom is having one.
Me:  Well, I wouldn't get your hopes up honey, it doesn't always work like that.
M:  It does work like that!
